95% of the websites we build these days are in WordPress. It's intuitive, flexible and infinitely customizable. There are also thousands of pre-built plugins that can help you achieve just about any feature or function you desire. That said, there's a bit of a learning curve and in order to make the most out of WordPress, some programming knowledge is required to customize various features, layouts, fonts and graphics.
One negative issue is that WordPress has become a target for hackers and malicious intrusions. In order to defend ourselves and our clients against these sorts of attacks, it is critical that WordPress and all plugins be updated on a regular basis. You should also make sure you have security plugins installed to help fend off attacks and you should strongly consider a paid subscription to Sucuri website security. I have no vested interest in Sucuri, other than the fact that they've saved our bacon several times and they provide perhaps the best, most valuable service ever. Seriously!
During the past twenty+ years, we have developed sites on multiple platforms but WordPress has risen to the top. No, it's not perfect, but in my opinion, it's the best platform out there for the vast majority of businesses.
I LOVED my Squarespace experience. It was very easy to learn how to create a beautiful, functional, professional-looking website that offered a lot of customization options. The shallow learning curve is fantastic for someone who is not a tech expert but needs to get a website up quickly. And their customer service is absolutely stellar. For my needs, it stands head and shoulders above all other options I've looked at, including Wordpress and Wix.
