had two not so great experiences with Wells Fargo. Its a no for me
Had them years ago after they bought the bank I was with. had nothing but problems. Now have a landlord that banks with them. Cant pay with cash, money orders, or checks. Never heard of a bank not taking cash.
Wells Fargo has always been user friendly and a great company. They helped me keep the business up and running when my partner died and have been an enormous help during the Covid issues. They are up there with my favorite bank!
I love my Financial Institution. I've been successful having Wells Fargo for over 6 years now. I am very pleased with the way they cater to me and my daughter's financial accounts.
To be specific I'm referring to Wells Fargo Merchant services. I opened this account because my small business is starting to grow and service price points are on the rise. With that being said, I had a client that elected to use their credit card instead of cash, hence the reason for obtaining the account. Well, this turned into something ridiculous. The cost of the job was $10k+. I did inform the rep when applying for the account that my first transaction would be high dollar. Needless to say none of that mattered. WFMS decides what transactions they will approve. After swiping the card the transaction went to the security department to determine if the transaction is legitimate. Although they could find no fraud or wrongdoing, I was declined to do the transaction. And yes, the money from the clients card was available. After this taking 5 days to determine, the rep wanted to take another 7-10 days to refund the transaction. I was beyond frustrated. I asked for the account to be closed and refunded the transaction myself. After this was done, they had the audacity to send me a letter informing me that they had closed my account for some ridiculous reason, which was a blatant lie and chose to do nothing about it when I called to address the issue. The customer service in the security department leaves a lot to be desired. And, by the way, they charged me an NSF fee and a processing fee on the transaction that they didn't approve. Therefore, I say be warned not to use Wells Fargo Merchant Services to accept credit cards. Definitely not a good idea for small business, or any business for that matter.
