I used to use GoDaddy for myself and my clients. It used to be really good, but over the past few years, their ability to keep sites online has been severely compromised. I am not sure what has happened there but it's a shame given how good it used to be.
Platform had the bigger hack of all times with their entire source code stolen. Get you stuff out of there
GoDaddy has SERIOUSLY declined since Bob Parson stepped down due to health issues - nothing is included anymore, everything is an upsell, and the service is slow. We used to be "GoDaddy PROS" (resellers), but I can't in good conscience send clients to them, nor have I for a few years. The worst!
It's fine if you are using it for a very small or personal website. Other than that, I don't recommend GoDaddy.
I do not recommend GoDaddy for anything. They are aggressive with sales using fear and technical gibberish to overwhelm non-techy customers. They segment basic features into upsells. For the cheap cost of getting started, you'll pay much more over time to fix your site later.
In my experience, GoDaddy is hands-down the WORST web hosting service in the world. I literally charge clients who host with GoDaddy extra because it takes so much longer to manage and troubleshoot site hosted on GoDaddy. Their proprietary and changing dashboard and interface cause delays and confusion regularly, but the most frustrating is when you need support from their tech people. It's exceptionally difficult to get access to their support people, and then when you do, their excessive verification processes take longer than the tech support itself. And lastly, it's rare to get a technician that knows anything. It's all prompted, boilerplate responses from inexperienced and unknowledgeable support staff. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and look at SiteGround, BlueHost, FlyWheel or WP Engine instead.
Performance sucked so bad we launched our own hosting company. Not even joking.
Choose any other provider than this place it’s borderline criminal. Dreamhost is our choice.
Everything's an upsell with GD. Standard features with other hosts are upsells here. Service is great, but the actual product falls very, very short.
