Had malicious repeat boosts from a commerce catalogue pixel, hard to stop cost me 2 years of problems at a loss of $75 a week on Facebook boost expenses I did not authorize or create. I lost my add to cart - buy button just before black Friday when I did try to advertise. lousy speed and lousy themes.
I never understood why Shopify got so popular. Backend tools are nice (shipping, inventory, etc), but the platform itself is limited and horrible in terms of design -one of the most annoying website tools I’ve dealt with in 20 years designing.
I would never choose to use this for a client due to the lack of control and design tools.
Better to be the owner of your website and cost. This platform has more cost than others but if you need a site fast this could be your solution.
I was perusing thru Facebook and saw the option to sell thru Shopify, ... I thought, what a great idea since everyone is glued to their Facebook page, so I gave it a try. It was easy to set up, I believe the info was pulled from my website. After a year, when I got the new charge, I decided not to re-new, as I personally did not see any sales from it. Wasted money!!!!!. It took me a few days just trying to talk to someone to cancel the charge without getting a reply, just got the run around, until I got fed up and called my credit card to complain and got full credit. I am very happy with GoDaddy, (this is after using two IT guys that charged me an arm and a leg and did not do their job as promised.... they (GoDaddy) are there 24/7, and they will even call you just to check on you and see if you need any kind of assistance.
Shopify is probably good for those who do not need custom websites with additional functionality. It can become quite pricey.
kind like keep one eye open and one eye close deal
I've never really checked Shopify out, but am planning to do so. I'll update my review as I learn about it.
Website templates very limited and clunky. Not much room to customize.
