I don't recall ever having to have this type of conversation. How wonderful that you bring this topic up. Thank you! Your involvement here is important. I am hopeful you will connect with those you are hoping to connect with. James Tomaszewski, Sr. comes to mind. Perhaps you two will have a wonderful conversation around this topic. You tugged at my heart today with this topic! For the children in need of this conversation - I am thankful for people like you coming together with others to provide. One idea that strikes me and is how I actually work with adults is asking the children questions. Being clear about what they are thinking and having the skills to provide a way for them to explore their thoughts around what is actually presenting itself within them is key. We can't help people without helping them explore and discover within what it is that needs acknowledged and content with what they come up with makes sense to them. This is how we address the individual's uniqueness.

No one gets married to get divorced. Unfortunately both parties don’t know how to handle their longings so they get frustrated with one another. The reality is they never learned how to persevere in helping one another in personal growth. Some divorces for safety reasons need to be. In my 30... (more) No one gets married to get divorced. Unfortunately both parties don’t know how to handle their longings so they get frustrated with one another. The reality is they never learned how to persevere in helping one another in personal growth. Some divorces for safety reasons need to be. In my 30 years of marriage, what I came to realize is how important it is to be fully engaged with excellent communication skills. I didn’t know how to communicate well. I was good at saying what I wanted but I wasn’t good at asking my spouse what they wanted nor were they good at articulating either. The difference started when I learned how to lead meaningful conversations honoring dignity and respect. I always thought I was being respectful and considerate of dignity. What was missing was the inquiry. Asking how my request was affecting him. This form of communication is not how I learned to communicate. Through rigorous coach training the difference now brings forth the true essence of ourselves in our communications. With a lack of a better word, a defensive stance would be a good way of describing how couples begin to exchange with one another. Each is dealing with their own in er dialogue and not knowing how to navigate the realities before them. What starts to erode becomes a mudslide. Sadly, there could have been a way to keep the love for one another alive. But when two people don’t know how, the pile of mess remains. It doesn’t have to be this way. One of them can lead the change. My heart for divorce is sensitive. My parents divorced when I was in 6th grade. The break always affects all parties throughout their lives. Love permeates the new people that eventually come into your family. But the original family being broken affected me and frankly still does. How wonderful to see you helping divorcees with the realities they face. May peace permeate your souls and be what leads your daily walk.

This I believe is true when we give all glory to our Creator enabling the cells within us to regenerate good cells. The renewing of our mind does not make sense until we experience the results.
