My interest is in finding shapes and patterns in the natural and manmade landscapes. I work in paint, mixed media, collage, and print. My work ranges in size from 8x10 ins. to 26x33 ins. I make smaller works in the form of note cards and sketches (5x7 and 8x10 ins.) which I sell at outdoor fairs and festivals. I also am interested in social justice issues and make posters and collaged notebooks based on black lives matter and women's justice issues. I started painting landscapes outdoors "en plein air" at parks and other areas in and around New York City. I used oil as my medium and completed work begun outdoors in my home studio. I continued painting landscapes based on my photographs taken on walks in a variety of places--city parks, the Berkshire mountains, and on my travels in Italy and southern Spain. After learning to paint with oil, I later became interested in different media and began using acrylic, watercolor, and ink and collage to create mixed media works.
