Yoast is a good all-around plug-in for WordPress SEO. Sure, it's been around for a while, is a bit bloated with unnecessary add-ons and there are likely other options nowadays. However, I would still recommend it for my clients simply because of the amount of documentation they provide. Yoast will literally walk you through everything you need to know if you purchase the premium and take the time to read it - making it a must for the WordPress site owner that wants to DIY their SEO. At the same time, it's robust enough for those that don't need all of the tutorials. You may not need Yoast, but if you can afford it, it's worth having.
