1. More of you are applying for CARES Act funding than reported last week

Will or has your small business attempted to take advantage of CARES Act loans? 4/13/20 Update

Last week, only 33 percent of you said you were applying or planning to apply for CARES Act loans, and as of today (Monday, April 13), that number jumped to over 50 percent—a promising sign for the U.S. small business economy.

If you haven't applied yet or are on the fence about applying, our article on CARES Act loans and resources can help you weigh your options.

2. Many of you are waiting for approval

What's the status of your CARES Act application? 4/13/20 Update

Close to 64 percent of you who have applied for CARES Act funding are waiting to be approved. Others are approved but waiting for money (five percent) or have received it already (less than one percent).

This week, it will be crucial for the survival of many small businesses that the government and the banks quickly deposit the money for the other 68 percent of businesses that have been approved or await approval; many of these businesses are running out of cash and need that infusion ASAP.

3. Some of you are struggling to find lenders

According to the data, 11 percent of you are still having trouble with banks that aren’t ready to handle your applications, and some of you are trying to find better lenders.

To find a lender, you can search the SBA's list of approved lenders by state. If you're an Alignable member, you can also find a list of highly recommended SBA lenders in your area right on the platform.

4. Those of you who haven't applied yet worry about eligibility and loan forgiveness

What are the reasons your business won't pursue CARES Act funding? 4/13/20

Nearly 50 percent of you have not applied yet for CARES loans because you're concerned about qualifying (42 percent) and loan forgiveness (over 18 percent).

These findings indicate that the government might need to further clarify the rules to make sure all of you who qualify get the money you deserve.

I am a bookkeeper and payroll professional and I already pdf everything to do with business for myself and my clients. I have trained my employees to pdf everything too. It was easy to submit my PPP for my employees when everything was at my fingertips. I was approved and signed the last document today. Please note, once you are approved you will need to resign all the documents in ink not digital. SBA wants ink on paper. After approval they resent the documents (prefilled from before) and I printed, signed, scanned, and secure emailed back. I have two clients approved for PPP for their employees and one of my employees is submitting a few more docs for another one to be approved.

A lot of changes and status wasn't recognized for my business.  Will try again but at this point not sure what to apply for.  Unemployment, grant, or a loan???  Will need help as was registered for MSU Home and Garden Show (set-up March 10 and told to tear down March 11) and that usually gave me one years worth of leads and work.  They told me I could only have 65 percent of my booth cost for refund or they would apply booth money for 2021 event.
I only get work thru leads and then estimates needed in customers homes.
Please direct me which way to apply?

I am waiting,it's submitted already just waiting on a response.

I tried to apply at 2 banks. One big bank wasn't ready for self employed. The other needed 2019 taxes, which I am working on now. I am told the money is already gone. In 4 days. Why in the world were large companies using everything up out of greed?  I also cannot afford this not being forgiven!  I have had lost or had deferred at least 40k dollars for my business and my family from the restrictions with coronavirus . I try to stay positive,  but feel there is something we are missing.  The gap between America's working class and the billionaires is growing at an alarming rate.  What is happening to the land of opportunity?

I just applied through Bank of America for the PPP, and also for the EIDL about 3 weeks ago. My EDIL app is in the “waiting to process file” (next step, given to a loan officer) and yesterday I was required via email to upload docs for the PPP, but no real answer on my appvl status as of yet on either loan...

20 days from application to funds in my account. This was my top priority every day. I received help from my accountant, business coach and local chamber of commerce, but extremely limited help from my bank. Customers with commercial accounts were given direct help, but nothing for regular business accounts. I'm thankful for the funds and have begun rehiring employees.
