Born as an entrepreneur - I was selling greeting cards at 8, hand-painted hair clips and babysitting 4 families at the same time - 4X my hourly rate - by age of 12- for the same time input.
Fast forward to graduating from Cal Poly - working for a few companies - without any specific mentoring - launched a design business with a $2500 loan. At the time I did not know most new businesses fail within 3 years. I think that was key - not knowing - because fellow entrepreneurs started to close after 5 years and the first of 4-5 recessions to come was already in play. Knowledge might have deterred me. Meanwhile - in lifetime accomplished many endeavors and continue to enrich and engage in the Bay Area community. Finally went for and achieved WBE certification. What's next?
